Competition Subject: Miami Urban Scenes or Landscapes

Contest Prizes:


1. Eligibility

This is an open competition: all artists working in two-dimensional painting media are eligible to enter provided they meet the rules. To conform to the spirit of the awards all works must be original and completed within the last two years. They must not have won any previous prize or award in any other art competition. The subject must be inspired by a scene within the boundaries of the City of Miami.

Applications are limited to three entries per artist. Minimum size is 20 inches on the smallest side & maximum size is 48 inches on the bigger side. All painting techniques are accepted. No copies from other artists or published material will be considered. Source material must be available upon request. No supervised work will be considered.

2. Applications Deadline

You must submit your entry by August 15, 2017.

3. Entry Form

All entries must use the official Entry Form in this website to be eligible.

4. Entry Fee

There is an entry fee of $20.00 for each work entered in the competition, payable by Paypal. The entry fee is non-refundable.

4. Jurying

The selection of all finalists and prize winners will be done by three independent jurors and not by the Miami Arts and Entertainment Council. The Jury’s decision is final and not revocable.

5. Exhibition

The works of all finalists will be exhibited at the Little Haiti Cultural Center from September 2 to September 9, 2017. The opening reception and awards presentation will take place on Saturday, Sept. 2, 2017 from 5pm to 8pm.

6. Publication of work

By submitting your application you are granting permission to its organizers for exhibiting and publishing your work(s) if selected finalist and/or one of the prizes. All works published will be given proper credit at all times.

7. Terms

Submitting your application automatically constitutes your acceptance of all competition rules. The juries’ decision will be final and no correspondence will be entered into. Winners will be notified by email and announced on the Paint Me Miami website. The museography of the show is not negotiable.

8. Selected Works

Selected finalists will be notified by email. Winners will be announced at the Opening Reception and Awards Ceremony on September 2nd from 5pm to 8pm at the Little Haiti Cultural Center, as well in the Paint Me Miami website and the contest’s social media platforms.
